Incendium Library has found a beautiful new space in West Footscray, along with Undercurrent Victoria. Our new address is 28d Ashley Street, West Footscray.
Incendium Library is a collectively run community library and reading room with a focus on radical politics and critical literature.
The library is open on Fridays 10-6pm and Saturdays 11-6pm but is available outside of these times to book.
We are not currently lending books except in special circumstances. However we hope to be lending in about a months time. If you can’t physically get to the library, you can browse our online catalogue and email us to borrow books via post.
Please also contact us if you would like to organise a reading group, workshop, discussion, literary event, or just drop by when we’re open to read, research, study, write, draw, or just relax in a quiet space 🙂
We acknowledge that IRL is situated on the land of the Wurundjeri & Bunurong peoples of the Kulin Nation. We stand on this land as beneficiaries of an uncompensated and unreconciled dispossession which began over 200 years ago and continues today. We would like to reflect that within acknowledgement there should be action. How do we act in solidarity with first nations peoples? How do we act against the economic and social systems which reinforce racism, oppression and subjugation?
